One hundred years plus one.

On October 23rd, the 101st anniversary of the commemoration of Theophile Gautier’s commemorative tile in Calle Párraga, the street where the Hotel is located, was celebrated.
This French poet, critic and novelist of the romantic 19th century, well known in the artistic and literary life of Paris, travelled around Andalusia and lived in Granada in a pension in Calle Párraga. Now another street in Granada is named after him. From his journey through Andalusian landscapes we have his work Viaje por Andalucía, with such famous phrases as “genius” is he who, at all times, knows how to translate his thoughts into action.
The Rinconcillistas wanted to pay tribute to him with a tile designed by the Granada painter Manuel Ángeles Ortiz and executed in Fajalauza, with a simple and graceful Granada flavour.
